On Writing: The Two Twist Scene
This blog post is a combination of a Second City writing class and a scene from the original Die Hard. I hope this can be a helpful framework for creating more suspense and excitement when revising a scene/chapter.
Road to a 16-seed
A March Madness basketball tradition over here, I've got a new chapter of the ongoing saga: Road to a 16 Seed. In this latest installment, the basketball hoops at the Midwest Conference Tournament look a little bit off. The tourney is postponed until a new tape measure arrives.
Helpful Resource for Authors - "Chill Subs"
What is it? A free database of 3000+ literary magazines, 1200+ writing contests, a submissions tracker, and other tools to make your writing life not so freaking exhausting. Highly recommend! Here's their website and here's where to find them on LinkedIn. Chill Subs. Their name alone makes me feel relaxed.
